Bonshah

Bonshah is a hip-hop artist originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia. He has had a long career and has received nominations for ANSMA and ECMA Awards. He has shared the stage with Ice-T, Maestro, Kardinal, 112, Ludacris.

Bonshah was a member of the pioneering "Double R&B" group L.C.P. in and out of the 1980s. He was successively an active solo artist throughout the 1990s, yet also helped foster projects and appeared on various compilations.

His 2001 solo debut album entitled 'Not on the Map'- the title alluding to the origins of his curious moniker- displayed a variety of styles and subject matter; a patische of tribute and progression. This limited release garnered an "East Coast Music Award Nomination", and included contributions from noted artists "Nate C, Papa Grand, Cindy Cain, Mr Hu "and" Candyman.'

'In 2005 Bonshah Faruq completed his first work of conventional literature named 'The Happy Crow', in which the metaphor of the ever-present crow evokes aphorisms, ponderances and spiritual obsessions, constructed with diary-like intimacy in a non-linear pattern.
