DeMarco had his professional debut in March 1945, a points decision against 1-16
Sal Giglio . DeMarco won his first five professional fights, losing for the first time againstButch Charles in October of the same year. Despite the setback DeMarco continued to fight and by September 1948 he was sporting a record of 32-2. It was on the 10th of that month that DeMarco fought the legendaryWillie Pep , whose record was an unbelievable 131-1-1 at the time, DeMarco losing a unanimous decision in ten rounds. DeMarco went on to fight such notables asSandy Saddler , Redtop Davis,Dennis Pat Brady ,Joey Scarlotta ,Harry LaSane ,George Araujo , Jimmy Carter,Kenny Lane ,Jackie Blair ,Pat Mallane , and many other talented fighters of the era. DeMarco's last fight was fought in November 1959. He retired with a career record of 75 wins (8 byknockout , 26 losses, and 3 draws).
