Andreas Kiligkaridis

Andreas Kiligkaridis (born August 5, 1976 in Saratov, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union) is a Greek flatwater canoer.

Kiligkaridis competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in men's 500 metre individual canoe (C1) and the 1000 metre individual canoe.

He placed fifth in the initial heat of the 500 metre with a time of 1:53.662, qualifying for the semifinals. In the semifinal, he placed seventh with a time of 1:53.793 and did not advance to the final.

In the 1000 metre, Kiligkaridis placed third in his heat with a time of 3:53.723, advancing to the semifinals. He placed fourth in the semifinal with a time of 3:55.608, missing the third-place finish needed to advance to the finals.

In 2006, Kiligkaridis achieved his best results to date. An encouraging fifth place finish at the Poznań World Cup regatta in May was followed by seventh place in the C1 1000 m at the European Championships in Račice, Czech Republic. At the 2006 World Championships in Szeged, Hungary, he came fourth in the C1 1000 m final, just missing out on a medal but finally establishing himself as a member of the world's elite.

Kiligkaridis lives in Thessaloniki where he is a member of the Nautical Club. He is 181 cm (5 ft 11 in) tall and weighs 80 kg (176 lb).
