Ska Studios is an independent game developer originally founded by James Silva in 2001 as Totally Screwed Software, before changing their name in 2005 to Ska Software, then again in 2007 to Ska Studios.

They are well-known in indie gaming as having games that utilize graphic cartoon violence. Earlier in the company's existence they often paid tribute to the retro gaming scene with the first two entries of the Zombie Smashers X series paying tribute to River City Ransom and Blood Zero being a tribute to Zelda.
