The Accolade (Lakewood High School)

"The Accolade" is the annual art and literary magazine of Lakewood High School located in Lakewood, California.

The magazine

* "The Accolade" is published by a student club on the campus of Lakewood High School.
* The submission policy is as follows: "Any student currently enrolled at Lakewood High School is encouraged to submit writing, artwork, and photographs to the magazine. Students holistically score each submission. Authors' names are removed during the judging process. Pieces with the highest scores are included in the magazine."

The Live Reading

Beginning in 2006, following the publication of the magazine there was an event where all the published authors and artists were invited to congregate at a local bookstore with guests and share their work. Selected art was displayed, and the present poets and essayists read their work aloud. At the end of the evening, special accolades were awarded to three visual artists and three authors; winners were chosen by a panel of adult advisors for the magazine.

Awards
