The Wayne County Teen Age Republicans are a newer branch of the Michigan Teen Age Republicans, the Wayne County chapter formed in the Winter of 2007 has led the effort on expanding the knowledge of the Youth of the extremely liberal Wayne County on the values of the Republican Party.
Background
Founded officailly in March 2007 at Huron High School Located in
New Boston, MI , the official hub of the Wayne County Teen Age Republicans. The founderCody A Bailey had envisioned the Wayne County chapter to be a major force against all democratic organizations in the area. Along with Michael G Bean, jack oneill and Samantha Carter, they had envisioned a major education force to be reckoned with. Though numbers are small in the largely liberal area, the Board of Directors of the chapter are putting together a large recruiting effort to go along with the 2008 election season, in which the current lack of leadership in Lansing from current Democrat Governor Jenifer Granholm will lead to future Republican victories in the State and National positions and bring back the force known as Reagan Republicans. The Board realizes this will take time which is why they are setting forth a 4 year strategy.Organization (National-State-County)
The TARs are organized in chapters across the nation. There are federations in most states, and clubs in counties and high schools around the nation. The organization structure consists of:
National TAR s - The National TAR office serves only two main functions1. To serve as an information clearing house to provide interested teens information on existing clubs or provide resources and advice on starting a club in areas that do not already have one.2. Holding a National Teenage Leadership Conference (TLC) at which a closer overview of government on the national level is given, along with several seminars on being effective leaders and how to assist with campaigns. Awards are also given recognizing Outstanding Local and State Clubs, and an Outstanding Individual TAR.State TAR federationsAs in the Republican Party, the majority of TAR involvement takes place on the State level. In most states they will receive some financial support from the party. The oldest recorded Teen Age Republican Federation is in South Dakota. This Federation was formed in 1960. [1] Most state organizations elect an executive board which differs in composition from state to state depending on their constitution. The executive board represents the members of the organization to the public and to the state party. In some Federations statewide events are held such as a summer camp or a mock legislative session.
County and Local ClubsSubordinate to the State Organization, county or even city or school clubs are formed. These Organizations also elect an executive Board and assist candidates on the local level.
