footnotes = Świerklaniec ( _de. Neudeck) is a village in Poland's Silesian Voivodeship. From 1975-1998 it was part of the Katowice Voivodeship.

43% of the gmina in which the village is located is covered with forests. One of these, in Świerklaniec Park, stretches over 154 hectares and includes oak, pine and many other species of tree, some of which are over 120 years old. The park used to be a part of an impressive palatial complex, comprising an ancient castle and a palace known as Little Versailles. Both were destroyed by the Red Army, with only a part of the residence surviving, the "Dom Kawalera". Two pairs of lion statues also remain, now decorating parks in Zabrze and Gliwice, as well as a gate currently belonging to the Silesian Zoological Garden.
