- Wyman Spooner
Wyman Spooner (1795–1877) was a
Wisconsin politician. He was born in 1795 inHardwick, Massachusetts , where he worked as a printer. He studied law inVermont until, in 1835, he moved toOhio . In 1842, he moved to Wisconsin; from 1847 until 1859 he served asWalworth County 'sprobate judge . He became a Republican in 1854. He served multiple terms in theWisconsin State Assembly in the 1850s and in theWisconsin State Senate from 1862 until 1863. He served three terms as the state's lieutenant governor, from 1864 until 1870. He renounced his membership in the Republican Party in 1876. He died in 1877.References
