Persian War Novices' Hurdle

The Persian War Novices' Hurdle is a Grade 2 National Hunt hurdle race in the United Kingdom for four-year-old and above novices. It is run over a distance of 2 miles 4 furlongs (4,023 metres) at Chepstow Racecourse in late October or early November. There are eleven hurdles to be jumped in the race.

The race is named after Persian War, winner of the Champion Hurdle in 1968, 1969 and 1970, who was trained near Chepstow.

Prior to the 2000-01 season the race was run in February. Between 1993 and February 2000 the race distance was 2 miles 4½ furlongs.

Winners since 1988

* The race was abandoned in 1989 and 1990 due to waterlogging, and in 1991 due to snow.
* The February 2000 running took place at Uttoxeter Racecourse.
