Farmington Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. It includes Hill-Stead, a building that is separately listed and is also a National Historic Landmark.

The district may include some or all of the other three National Historic Landmark buildings in Farmington:
*Austin F. Williams Carriagehouse And House
*First Church of Christ, Congregational (Farmington, Connecticut)
*Stanley-Whitman House
