Robert Chambers (Bob) Edwards, (c. 1859 –
14 November 1922 ), was a Canadian newsman and entrepreneur. He launched the Wetaskiwin Free Lance and the Calgary Eye Opener newspapers early in the 20th Century.Bob Edwards Junior High School inCalgary ,Alberta is named in his honour.The Bob Edwards Award has been presented for over thirty years annually for excellence in journalism. Rick Mercer andGwynne Dyer .Edwards is buried in Calgary's Union Cemetery.
