Alisha is the chairman of the Umar Alisha Rural Development Trust and the Umar Alisha Sahithi Samithi. Alisha is also a poet, writing in the Telugu language, and the editor-in-chief of the spiritual magazine Tatva Znanamu.
He is a homeopath, having graduated from the Dr Gururaju Government Homeopathic Medical College in Gudivada, Andhra Pradesh.
Alisha received the (Visesha Puraskaram) -2006 Ramineni Foundation Award.[2][3] He also received Son Of India Award by Mother India international In the year 2007.
