Palm Beach County , with the rating of an "A".The school offers four Academies in which it takes great pride in. These academies act as the school's
Magnet Program and draws students all throughout Palm Beach County. The only unfortunate drawback to these magnet programs is that the school is now overcrowded.Academies
Park Vista High School provides four academies which include: Medical Science, Information Technology, Television and Broadcasting, and Automotive. These academies act as a magnet program to draw in students throughout Palm Beach County.
Entrance to these Academies requires at least a 3.0 GPA and teacher references, where students are then selected through lottery. Students can enter these academies at any year, but if a student remains in the academy for three consecutive years, they will receive a Gold Seal Vocational Scholarship Award.
Medical Science
Park Vista's Medical Academy , is currently a four-year long program. the Program consists of Medical Skills & Services, an entry level course; Health Science 1, a course that mainly focuses on Anatomy and Physiology; Health Science 2, focused on several aspects of the medical field; and three exiting courses: Nursing Assistant 3, Allied Health 3, and First Responder 3.MSS was dropped after the 2007-2008 school year. Students entering the academy as freshmen during the 2008-2009 school year and after will begin their medical training with the Health Science 1 course. Forensic Science was added as a 4th exiting course.
Information Technology
The Information Technology Academy (IT) was the largest academy at Park Vista, but was discontinued after the 2006-2007 school year due to the large number of students applying for it just to come to Park Vista, making the overcrowding issue even worse.
Television and Broadcasting
The television and Broadcasting academy houses standard media equipment. The purpose is to help students whom want to become involved in such careers.

Overcrowding
The school's current student population is at approximately 3350 students, 1250 students over the school's occupational limit. Currently, Palm Beach County has worked alongside Park Vista and other area high schools to reestablish the school's residential zoning. See Re-Zoning below.
Re-Zoning
Due to the school being overcapacity, after the 07-08 school year, an area of Boynton Beach was re-zoned from Park Vista Community High School to
Olympic Heights Community High School inBoca Raton . This area includes SAC's 259A, 259B, and 242, which include; Canyon Lakes, Canyon Isles, Canyon Springs, Equs, Cobblestone Creek, and Verona. Other areas were re-zoned forBoynton Beach Community High School , such as; SAC's 252, 260, 262A, 262B, 261, and 253. Developments included; Sun Valley, Coronado Estates, Country Fair, Lakes of Boynton Beach, and Indian Springs. However, after local residents fought the Boundaries Committee of Palm Beach County School District, residents that were going to be re-zoned forBoynton Beach High School would have the option to "opt-out" and attendOlympic Heights Community High School . This was due to the fact that BBCHS is a "D" rated school and has excessive violence, according to parents. Fortunately, these changes only affected incoming freshmen for the 2008-2009 school year and after. Meaning that any student already attending the school would automatically gain the right to stay at the school until they graduate.tudent Schedule
The school follows a block schedule composed of three alternating types of days. Students attend classes 1, 3, 5 and 7 on "odd" days, 2, 4, 5, and 6 on "even" days, and each of their seven classes on "seven period" days. Fifth hour is visited everyday, for it is the lunch period. The schedule is sometimes changed due to various school activities such as pep rallies and late start days.
