Turkey vest

A turkey vest is a kind of hunting clothing designed for turkey hunting. Wild turkeys are hunted in 49 States and three Canadian Provinces. Many of these places offer both a spring and fall hunting season. In order to accommodate the special need in this outdoor activity, it has the following features which make it different from other hunting apparels.

*Pockets - an abundance of assorted-sized pockets, both inside and outside the vest, is the biggest thing to look for in a turkey vest. These pockets will be used to accommodate from small items like turkey calls or shells to bigger gear like GPS or binoculars.

*One Size fits all - most turkey vests are oversized or “one size fits all.” However, the size can actually be adjusted by straps over the shoulders and waist, which will allow the hunters to wear more clothing underneath, especially during the fall and in the northern States and Canada. Some versatile vests also feature zip-off sleeves for cool autumn mornings, which can be removed when the temperature climbs.

*Built-in seat pad - since it takes a long time for a wary gobbler responding to hunter’s call and coming to the shooting distance, a seat pad will be essential to keep hunters off the hard cold ground. Besides, a padded back which usually goes with the seat will also make hunters sit more comfortably.

*Large Game Bag - this is used for carrying the decoy or dead turkey. It is usually sewn in the back the vest.

*Concealment - wild turkeys have excellent visual acuity, as well as the ability to see color, meaning that head-to-toe camo is in order. All turkey vests are camouflaged, but the hunters need to take seasons and locations into consideration while an appropriate camo pattern.

*Blaze Orange flag - a removable blaze orange safety flag on the back of the vest will make sure the hunter is visible as he/she leaves the woods and other hunters will have no problem seeing him/her.
