Mirchi Bada (chili cutlet) is a spicy Indian snack consisting of chili (Mirchi) and potato stuffing, served hot with tomato sauce or occasionally with mint and tamarind chutney. It is very filling for its size.

The mirchi bada of Jodhpur, Rajasthan is very famous, as the water in that region lends it a unique taste. It combines well with another Jodhpur speciality, 'Mawa Kachori' dipped in sugary syrup.[1]

Types

The popular very famous hot spicy Mirchi Bada of Jodhpur is prepared with Mirchi (Chilli), potato and grem flour. Janta Sweet Home at Nai Sarak and Station Road is serving jodhpuri delicacies which includes mirchi vada, mawa kachori, malai ghevar, malai laddu etc since last 35 years.other variety of bada's are also made. Few are "Dal Vada" made with pulses, Sambar bada, lasan (Garlic) ka bada etc. Bada is not only spicy in taste but few of them are also sweet made with gur (Made of sugar cane juice)

Mirchi Bada is also know as Mirchi Bajji in southern part of India and the stuffing can vary from place to place.
