"Caught a Lite Sneeze" is a song by Tori Amos, released as the first single from her 1996 album "Boys For Pele". It reached #60 on the "Billboard" Hot 100 and #20 on the UK Singles Charts, and is one of the most recognized songs by Amos and a fan-favourite. Surprisingly, it does not appear on her best-of collection, "Tales of a Librarian."

The song is about wanting to do anything to keep a relationship going, knowing that it's over. [ [http://www.yessaid.com/talk/7caughtalitesneeze.html Quotes from interviews with Tori Amos] .] It references Nine Inch Nails's album "Pretty Hate Machine" in the following lyric: "Caught a lite sneeze / Dreamed a little dream / Made my own pretty hate machine."

In live performances from 1996 and 1998, Amos would frequently insert lines directly from and inspired by "Hurt," another song from Nine Inch Nails.

It was the first song to be made available as a free Internet download.

It was also covered on Evans Blue's new album The Pursuit Begins When This Portrayal of Life Ends.
