* AFL Premiership Player (2008)Steven Gilham (born 2 September 1984) is an
Australian rules football player playing for theHawthorn Football Club .A skinny full back, Gilham captained Victoria Metro as an under 18 and was highly rated.
After three seasons and only one senior game for Port Adelaide due to groin and shoulder injuries stifling his progress Gilham returned to Victoria when he was picked up by the Hawks in the 2006 rookie draft.
He spent most of 2006 battling bigger opponents at Box Hill before finally getting his chance, debuting in the final month of the season, in round 19 against Carlton. Gilham impressed with his composure and was promoted to the senior list for 2007.
After an exciting and quite successful 2007 it is clear Gilham is an outstanding junior who is best suited in defence.
