Zhang Zhongjun

Prof.Dr. Zhang Zhongjun (Chinese: 张仲俊, also known as Tsuntsing Chang)(1913-1995)

The decreased Member Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was a famous Chinese scientist in the field of automatic control and electrical engineering. He received his bachelor degree from National Jiaotong University in 1934 and got his Master degree in 1935 and PhD. degree in 1938 from Massachusetts Institute of Technology,U.S.

Zhang returned to China and worked in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University from 1940 as the dean of it. The former Chinese President, Jiang Zeming used to be one of his students.In 1950s, he designed and established the electric power system of Shanghai. After 1960s his interest turned to the field of control engineering and founded Department of Automatic Control at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He mainly focused on the theory of systems engineering. In 1980, he was selected as the member of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
