Distinction

Although many translations of the Quran in the Urdu language exist, Kanzul Imaan is quite different. Ahmed Raza Khan attempted to use words that accord, in his opinion, due respect to Allah and of the Islamic prophet Muhammad(SAW).

The English translator of the Kanzul Iman, Professor Shah Faridul Haque, writes that no one is allowed to assign novel meanings to the revealed words of the Quran on his own accord. In his translation, Imam Ahmad Raza has tried to assign such meanings to the words of the Quran, and any occurrence and contradiction in the meaning of the words and verses of the Quran. He also has kept in mind while translating the Quran that such meanings should be selected that may not injure the status and dignity of Allah. He considers the translation to be of great service to the Sunni faith, and a promotion of love and respect of Allah and Prophet Muhammad (SAW) for billions of Muslims of the world.
