John Shires

John Shires is a British television presenter and journalist currently working for ITV Yorkshire on its flagship news programme "Calendar".

John started as a reporter and later went onto front the sports section of the "Calendar" news programme before standing in as main anchor. He is now one of the main presenters for the south version of the show with Gaynor Barnes [http://tvpresenters.thetvroomplus.com/channel-43.html] , which covers news predominantly from Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire.

Prior to joining Yorkshire Television, he worked for Radio Aire, the Independent Local Radio station for Leeds and West Yorkshire.

John is also married with 2 grown up children.
