"If She Dies" is the first segment of the fifth episode from the television series "The New Twilight Zone".
Opening narration
Plot synopsis
When a recently-widowed father's only daughter is put into a coma, he is guided to buy an old wooden bed from a church sale by the apparition of a girl. He buys the bed and sets it up in his daughters room without knowing why, that evening he finds that the bed is haunted by another young girl who died of tuberculosis while sleeping in the bed. The ghost of the girl is not vengeful but would like her stuffed teddy bear, whom she had named Toby. After retrieving the bear, the father steals his daughter from the hospital where she resides and places her in the bed. There she makes a full recovery but has taken on some of the traits of the ghost girl.
