Luke was born in Plymouth and grew up in Devon. He went to school in
Buckland Monachorum ,Tavistock College andChristleton High School , Chester. He graduated from theUniversity of Exeter in 2001 with a First in Politics. From 2001 to 2002 he was President of theUniversity of Exeter Guild of Students .After working for ITV in children’s television he moved to London to work for the
Member of Parliament forPlymouth Devonport ,David Jamieson . In 2003 he moved to work forGeorge Foulkes in the House of Commons.In 2005 Luke moved to work for
Edelman (firm) , a PR firm, in their public affairs team. He specializes in online campaigning and political campaigning.Candidacy
In 2006 Luke stood in the
City of Westminster local elections inChurchill Ward where he increased the Labour vote by nearly a third. In September 2007 he was selected to stand for Parliament for the Labour Party inSouth West Devon .Personal life
Luke is single and lives in Plymouth and London. He enjoys playing football and hockey and plays for the House of Lords and Commons Hockey team.
