Node: (hypertext) Also known as; Frame, lexia.
Node is an emerging term that is coming to replace the usage of the problematic term "Lexia" in hypertext literary criticism. As Joseph Tabbi explains, "any breakdown of text into a field of interconnecting lexia depends not primarily on the author, but rather on the reader." [1]
A node is a self-contained unit of meaning within a hypertextual network. It is the linking of nodes which typifies certain hypertext fictions, such as those created in Storyspace. The term node is taken from computer science.
