William Frederick Pavy (1829-1911) was a British
physician andphysiologist and the discoverer ofPavy's disease , a cyclic or recurrent physiologicalbuminuria .Pavy worked with Richard Bright at
Guy's Hospital inLondon ,England , in the study ofBright's disease orkidney failure . He was also a leading expert indiabetes , and spent almost 20 years trying to disproveClaude Bernard 's theory of theglycogen -glucose metabolic cycle.He was a president of the
