Khan Muhammad Sarwar Khan Kakar

Malik Sarwar Kakar (Pashto: ملک سرور خان کاکړ) was head of the Kakar tribe of the Pashtuns/Pathans.

He was from Barshore and Toba Kakar Ranges area of Pishin District. He was born in 1942 and studied in Saint Micheal School Quetta. He was a former Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly and elected six times from Pishin District as M.P.A. in the [Balochistan Assembly. He was Provincial Minister of Education, Finance, B&R, Transport, Excise & Taxation, Revenue, Sports and others. He was a Senator in the Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament of Pakistan) and Chairman of standing commettee befor Feb 08 Elections. Senator Malik Sarwar Khan Kakar died at a Karachi hospital on Thursday February 21st 2008 at the age of 65. He was laid to rest in the ancestral graveyard in Barshore village in Pishin. Malik Sarwar Khan Kakar was first elected Speaker of the Balochistan assembly after the 1985 party-less polls. He was elected to the provincial assembly in 1988, 1990, 1993 and 1996. He did not contest the 2002 elections due to held in Jail on corruption charges (he could not possibly have dispute with the army,as he was in PML-Q,Musharraf's party) , but was elected senator in 2005 on a PML-Q ticket. Malik Sarwar Khan Kakar was elected MPA from Pishin in the Feb 18, 2008 polls.
