The Rachel Papers (novel)

"The Rachel Papers" is Martin Amis' first novel, published in 1973 by Jonathan Cape. It won the Somerset Maugham Award in 1974 and in 1989 was made into a film by the same name, starring Dexter Fletcher.

Plot introduction

It tells the story of a bright, egotistical teenager (which Amis acknowledges as autobiographical)Fact|date=September 2007 and his relationship with the eponymous girlfriend in the year before going to university.
