Martial art ist Dana Wong was born in the USA and Boston University educated. Wong, has been involved with martial arts training and instructing for more than three decades. Initially, commencing his interest in various styles before settling on the Chinese martial art,Wing Chun Kung Fu . His instructors for this martial art are able to trace their training ancestry to the legendaryYip Man , whose skill was still impressive when he was in his seventies.Though deeply impressed by Wing Chun Kung Fu's ability to solve many fighting situations, Wong realised that one style could not accomplish the solution of every fighting difficulty, consequently he began to explore and develop a personal inventory of increasing solutions to various fighting situations. This is Wong's present martial arts path.
Wong operates his own Wing Chun Kung Fu based training school, commenced 2003 in
Melbourne, Australia , when he is not travelling to the USA and Europe on teaching assignments or to Mainland China visiting other Wing Chun Kung Fu practitioners and schools for information exchange.Over the years, Wong has received the recognition of the Australian Martial Arts industry by being named Instructor of the Year 1997, by
Blitz magazine , a highly regarded Australian martial arts publication, and being invited to be a member of, theInternational Martial Arts Alliance , theAustralian Kung Fu (Wushu) Federation Inc .the only government sanctioned body recognising Chinese martial arts in Australia, AustralasianFilipino Combat Arts Federation, and also presently Victorian State Chairman of the Australian Kung Fu (Wushu) Federation Inc. Wong is frequently invited to publish his teachings within articles in various martial arts magazines (Blitz,Bujutsu International,Impact among others).Wong's ability as an intelligent, intuitive and analytical martial arts practitioner was recognised by the
