style=Allerton Hall was purchased by John and James Hardman in 1736, John later became a MP in 1754. Before this, it was owned by
William Roscoe between 1798 and 1813. During the American Civil War, the house was rented byCharles Prioleau and acted as a refuge for the likes ofRaphael Semmes . It was donated to the City of Liverpool in 1926. For a long time, the building was in a state of disrepair until it was bought by a pub chain and turned into a pub serving traditionalcask ale s called "The Pub in the Park."External links
