RAF Barnham

RAF Barnham

RAF Barnham was an RAF base situated in Suffolk, England, which was home to a nuclear weapon store during the 1950s. However, in the early 1960s, the base itself was put up for sale, and now forms the Gorse Industrial Estate.

The adjacent MoD Training Area (Section 28) remained the property of the Her Majesty's Government, and is still used by many RAF sections, including the RAF Regiment Training Wing, the RAF Force Protection Centre, a number of Rapier Fire Units, Air Defence squadrons, ATC Air training Corps and CCF units.

Training AreaBarnhem which is used by Regiment and cadet forces as excersises/training, is surrounded by trees and marsh land, making it good for Night excersises and its woods good for making up harbour areas. Although, its treated as a base Raf barnham is not really, since it's only used for training.
