Anthony Day was born in
Miami, Florida , onMay 12 ,1933 . His father,Price Day , worked as aforeign correspondent for theBaltimore Sun , earning him aPulitzer Prize in 1949. Anthony Price had three younger brothers, all of whom also became journalists.Day graduated from
Harvard University . He served two years in theU.S. Army following graduation.Career
Anthony Day's career in
journalism began at thePhiladelphia Bulletin . He began working at the paper in 1957. He was eventually promoted to the paper'sWashington D.C. bureau chief.Day was hired by the
Los Angeles Times as the chiefeditorial writer in 1969. Death
Anthony Day died of
emphysema on September 2, 2007 atSt. Vincent Regional Medical Center inSanta Fe, New Mexico . He survived by his wife, Lynn.External links
