A core principle to
Judaism isTorah ,Avodah and Gamilut Chasadim. These principles are intertwined in the core beliefs of the college. Therefore a compulsory extra curricular activity for students in Years 7-10 is the commitment tocommunity service . All students are expected to give a minimum of 20 hours per semester to a range of organisation or individuals. Some take part in cross-agetutoring , others are involved infundraisers . Some visit the elderly on a regular basis while others help to form a minyan at one of the homes. The activities are varied and students have an opportunity to give their own time to causes that are linked to the Jewish community in Australia andIsrael , as well as the broader Australian community. As the concept of giving becomes part of their lives most students continue their community service in Years 11 and 12 and beyond, on a voluntary basis.Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)
Yavneh has consistently performed well over the years, as with some other Jewish schools and has been ranked amongst the highest achieving Victorian schools. In 2007, thirty percent of the College's graduating students received
ENTER scores of 95 or above.See also
