BBC Director General Mark Thompson announced changes that are planned for the British Broadcasting Corporation. This review of operations is seen as an attempt to improve the efficiency of the BBC prior to its Charter renewal. Mr Thompson said of the new initiative: "I see a unique creative opportunity. This new digital world is a better world for public service content than the old one."ummary
