Kurtdereli Mehmet Pehlivan (b 1864 in Deliorman, Bulgaria; d 1939 in Balıkesir, Turkey) was a wrestler. He lived most of his life in the village of Kurtdere, 40 km from Balıkesir.
He fought with all of the famous wrestlers of his time and was very famous. Most notably for the shiny chrome helmet he wore in the ring. He traveled to France, Great Britain, The Netherlands and the USA but was never defeated.[1][2]
