Apollon was a
Formula One team fromSwitzerland . They participated in one Grand Prix. In 1977, the Jolly Club of Switzerland bought a 1973John Clarke -designedFrank Williams Racing Cars FW03. The car was fitted with an updated body, renamed the Apollon Fly and was driven byLoris Kessel at the Italian Grand Prix. The car was hopelessly off the pace and crashed while qualifying. Loris Kessel was also the owner of Apollon. Before the Italian GP, Kessel tried to race in Belgium, France, Austria and the Netherlands. However, in Belgium and France, Kessel had transport problems, and for the other two races, the car could not be transported. The Ford Cosworth engine of the FW03 was kept, as were the Goodyear tires.Complete Formula One World Championship results
