Frank Evershed brewer and sportsman, and his wife Florence Helen Lowe. He was educated atClifton College andOxford University . In 1923, he was admitted toLincoln's Inn and became a barrister. He was made a K.C. in 1933 and aBencher of Lincoln's Inn in 1938. DuringWorld War II he was a 2nd Lieutenant in theRoyal Engineers .Evershed became a High Court Judge in 1944 when he was knighted, and Lord Justice of Appeal in 1947 when he was made a
Privy Counsellor . Between 1949 and 1962 he was Master of the Rolls and was U.K. Member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration atThe Hague in 1950.
