Railway Bridge, Kaunas

Railway Bridge in Kaunas cross Nemunas river to connect lower Freda. because of it's green paintit is often called "Green" _lt. Žaliasis. Construction of the bridge started in 1859 and ended in 1862. However during WWI parts of the bridge was destroyed, but soon afterwards was rebuilt by Germans. Paul von Hindenburg was among the guests who participated in opening ceremony of the reconstructed bridge. During World War II bridge was blown up several times, but was rebuilt.
