Roy Lindell

Roy Lindell

Roy Lindell is a fictional FBI agent created by New York Times bestselling author Michael Connelly. He is featured in the Connelly novels "Trunk Music," "Angels Flight," and "Lost Light."

Biography

Lindell was first introduced in 1997 under the pseudonym Luke "Lucky" Goshen, manager of a strip club in North Las Vegas called Dolly's. Detective Harry Bosch, investigating the murder of filmmaker Anthony Aliso, was confronted by Goshen during a visit to his club. Acting on information garnered from fingerprints found on Aliso's body, Goshen was taken into custody by the Metro Police Department. While interrogating Goshen/Lindell, Detective Bosch cut off the man's long ponytail in an attempt to garner a confession.

It was later revealed by members of the FBI Organised Crime unit that Goshen was really Agent Lindell, who had been working undercover for five years in an attempt to bring known mobster Joseph "Joey Marks" Marconi to justice. Lindell was released from Metro custody and began investigating the Aliso murder after it was turned over to the FBI.

Lindell later assisted Bosch in the takedown of Anthony Aliso's widow, Veronica, in addition to Joseph Marconi, corrupt LAPD police officer Ray Powers, and other mafia figures during an operation at a Las Vegas bank. A mutual respect grew between Bosch and Lindell, which continued over the next few years.

In 1999, Lindell and Bosch again met when Lindell's FBI team was assigned to assist Bosch's team in investigating the murder of civil rights attorney Howard Elias. Lindell was tasked with covering the Elias Murder in addition to supervising members of the LAPD Internal Affairs Division who were also assigned to the case.
