Hoofddorp is a railway station in Hoofddorp, Noord Holland, the Netherlands. The station is on the Amsterdam - Schiphol - Leiden Centraal - Den Haag - Rotterdam main line.

History

This is actually the second station in Hoofddorp; there was an earlier one nearer the town centre for the Haarlemmermeerspoorlijn (Aalsmeer - Haarlem and Hoofddorp - Leiden), which is now in residential use. This station opened in 1912 and closed in 1935.

The current station is a stoptrain station and opened on 31 May 1981. The station was rebuilt in 1998 to its current look.

Hoofdorp has a depot/sidings further west from the station, this is the reason many stoptrains start here. Intercity trains terminating at Schiphol also come to this depot before returning. The station has 4 platforms and has 6 tracks. There are several bus stops below the station and the ZuidTangent 300 stops at station level next to it.
