Narodnoye Pravo

Narodnoye Pravo 9(Russian:Народное право)(Peoples Right) party, an illegal organisation of the Russian democratic intelligentsia founded in the summer of 1893. Among the founders were such former Narodovoltsi as O. V. Aptekman, A. I. Bogdanovich, A. V. Gedeonovsky, M. A. Natanson and N. S. Tyutchev. The members of the Narodnoye Pravo set themselves the aim of uniting all opposition forces, with a view to conducting a struggle for political reform. The Narodnoye Pravo party issued two programme documents, aManifestoandAn Urgent Issue.” In the sprint of 1894 the party was broken up by the tsarist government under Alexander III of Russia. The majority of the Narodnoye Pravo members subsequently joined the Socialist-Revolutionary Party.[1]
