It was part of a series of high profile concerts (organised byAl Gore andKevin Wall , which took place across the globe to raise awareness about climate change. The concert was backed by the Vatican, and was the Catholic church's contribution to theLive Earth events.The Concert
During the first part of the concert, which took place outside the basicica, various works by Michael D'Alessandra and Cristiano Serino were performed by the Bernini Quartet and Michael D'Alessandra (piano). The second part of the concert, of sacred music, took place inside the church. Performing were the
London Oratory School Schola , Christiano Serino, Michael D'Alessandra and The Rome Philharmonic Orchestra. The choir and orchestra performed "Vexilla Regis" by Michael D'Alessandra, followed by Christiano Serino's "The Seven Last Words" (a concerto for choir, orchestra and cello solo) and finally D'Alessandra's "Missa" and "Gloria".The concert was a follow up to one performed at
Sant'Anselmo in May. There, theLondon Oratory School Schola and the Rome Philharmonic Orchestra premiered Michael D'Alessandra's "Missa" under the baton of Christiano Serino.In the media
