- Glavacioc Monastery
The Glavacioc Monastery ( _ro. Mănăstirea Glavacioc) is a Romanian Orthodox
monastery situated inArgeş departament at the coordinates coord|44|28|16|N|25|15|27|E.History
It is generally considered it was built during the reign of
Mircea I of Wallachia , who donated the village ofCălugăreni ,Giurgiu to the monastery. The wooden church was replaced with a stone church byVlad Călugărul in1495 .It has been repaired byMihnea Turcitul ,Constantin Brancoveanu and theboyar "Costache Faca".The monastery was closed down during thecommunist rule and reopened in1991 . Thestarets of the monastery is thehieromonk Casian Creţu.External links
