Bramhope ,Leeds ,West Yorkshire ,England (gbmapping|SE267417), administered byLeeds City Council .It opened as a privately run amusement park in 1932 with a miniature railway, swimming pool and boating lake, but closed during the Second World War and was taken over by the Council in 1945. The lake was formed by damming Adel Beck and was larger than at present.
Today the park has a lake with wildfowl, informal gardens, demonstration gardens, a special collection of
heather s, and woodland and open spaces. The gardens contain the National Plant Collections ofLilac ,Deutzia ,Hosta and Hemerocallis. [cite web|title=NCCPG website|url=http://www.nccpg.com/|accessdate=2007-09-20]The park is on the east side of the
A660 road . On the west side is a car park and Breary Marshnature reserve , with a pedestrian tunnel under the road joining them to the main park. TheLeeds Country Way passes through the park, and theMeanwood Valley Trail links the park toWoodhouse Moor .Facilities are limited to a café (with restricted opening hours), public toilets (clean), a number of benches, and one small wooden shelter. However, the place is well-tended and tidy. Visitors who wish to feed the birds on the lake, should beware of 'persistent' geese.
