- Boris Nikolsky
Boris Petrovich Nikolsky ( _ru. Бори́с Петро́вич Нико́льский) (1900-1990) – was a
Russia n (Soviet)physical chemist andradiochemist , Academician of theSoviet Academy of Sciences , andprofessor ofSaint Petersburg (then Leningrad) State University. Made an important contribution to study ofion exchange between aqua solutions and different solids (soils, ionites, glasses). He developed theglass electrode theory and equations that describe properties of glass electrodes as well as other types ofion-selective electrode s depending on chemical structure and multicomponent composition of glass, concurrent interference of ions and so on.General publications on the glass electrode theory
