- Saane/Sarine
Saane (in German) or Sarine (in French) is one of the largest
rivers inSwitzerland . It is 128 km long and has a drainage area of 1,892 km². It is a tributary of the riverAar . The source is at the foot of theSanetschhorn , in the western part of theBernese Oberland .The Saane flows through the following Swiss cantons and towns:
*Canton of Berne :Gstaad /Saanen
*Canton of Vaud :Château-d'Œx
*Canton of Fribourg :Gruyères ,Fribourg
*Canton of Berne : LaupenApproximately 15 km west of
Berne , the river flows into the Aar.Reservoirs
