Andrea Newman (born 1938 in
Dover ) is an author, best known for the 1976London Weekend Television dramatisation of her 1969 novelBouquet of Barbed Wire and its sequelAnother Bouquet in 1977.Other novels have included 'A Share of the World' (1964), 'The Cage' (1966), '
Three Into Two Won't Go ' (1967), 'Alexa' (1968), 'Mirage' (1965), 'A Sense of Guilt', 'An Evil Streak' (1977), 'Mackenzie' and 'A Gift of Poison'. A book of 15 short stories, 'Triangles', was published in 1990.'Three Into Two Won't Go' was made into a film starring
Rod Steiger andClaire Bloom .'A Sense of Guilt' (1990,
BBC ), 'Alexa' (1982,BBC ), 'Mackenzie' (1980,BBC ) and 'An Evil Streak' (1999, London Weekend Television) were all also made into television series. In 2001 Newman was the writer for the television drama 'Pretending to Be Judith'.
