Sinister bedfellows

Sinister Bedfellows is a photo-based webcomic created by mckenzee and hosted at Comic Genesis. It has been compared to A Softer World in several reviews. [ [http://www.websnark.com/archives/2004/10/its_not_screami.html Websnark: It's not screaming the name during sex that's the problem. Murmuring "g'night, [name of Ex" when mostly asleep and lying next to a different girl? That gets you murdered ] ] [ [http://comixtalk.com/node/1946 Feeding Snarky by Eric Burns | COMIXTALK ] ] [ [http://journeyintohistory.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=121&Itemid=29 Journey Into History - -(HB 34) in which a picture is worth about ten words ] ] Each of its strips is composed of a single photo, divided into three horizontal "panels", with one or more captions added. The strip does not feature a Story arc or regular characters, rather the author's own photographs are presented with captions that suggest dialogue (of people, animals or inanimate objects such as statues) or convey obscure cultural references.

A trade paperback, Sinister Bedfellows: Anthology (ISBN 978-1-4116-9929-8), featuring selected strips paired with short stories by several lesser-known authors, primarily from the Bizarro fiction genre, was published in 2006 through Lulu.com.

Sinister Bedfellows was nominated for Outstanding Photographic Comic at the 2007 Web Cartoonist's Choice Awards in February, 2007. The comic strip is also a regular feature in the online magazine, MungBeing as well as the print magazine The Blotter.
