Core Labor Standards (or 'CLS') are the baseline standards for labor setup by the International Labor Organization (ILO). The baseline standards include: freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining; the elimination of forced and compulsory labor; the abolition of child labor; and the elimination of discrimination in the workplace. Other standards have been sought by the ILO to improve worker conditions, but these have been the central few that are widely accepted as customary international law.
