governing_body = Private businessThe TuthilltownGristmill is located off Albany Post Road (Ulster County Route 9) in Gardiner,New York ,USA . Until recently it was the oldest continuously operated gristmill in the state.Selah Tuthill built the mill on the
Shawangunk Kill , immediately above theconfluence with theWallkill River , in 1788 when he was 18.
