Khuiratta is a city in , Kotli District, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. Khuiratta is located nearly 38 kilometres from Kotli.

Tourism

Khuiratta and its surrounding areas are popular with tourists due to historic remains of gardens and fountains. 4 kilometres away from Khuiratta is a famous shrine of "Mai Totti Sahiba" which is visited by hundreds of people daily. Khoiratta is also famous for its vasakhi mela. For the last 50 years this mela has been held in Dehari Bagh. Thousands of people gather from as far as Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala. The mela lasts for 3 days, activities include bull racing, wrestling, football and fairground rides. Khuiratta has a history of famous people, amongst them Ch Chiraag Din Zarger Marhoom, Ch Fazil Zarger, Ch Ghazi Abdul Rahman Marhoom, Major Jan Marhoom, Headmaster Alf-Uddin Marhoom, Ch Mohammed Akbar Marhoom, of Dehari Bagh. Khoiratta is also renowned for pirs and faqirs and the most revered is "Mai Totti Sahiba".

Khuiratta is situated inside Kotli and is one of Kotli's most major towns even though the people of Khuiratta regard it as a town in its own right, however this isn't the case. Khuiratta is the home of many tourist attractions and is known as a beautiful town, its shopping centre has grown tremendously in the last few years.

Some undesirable activities.Before five to ten years Khuiratta was also known as the main place for distribution of Alcohol (bootlegging) as it is extremely close to the border (25 miles approx). The bootlegging business was controlled by the Butt Family for a large part of 20th Century. What is known is that the Butt family of Khuiratta also have close blood ties with those of Kotli. They also have a lot of family in England. Recently people from other families are also distributing alcohol as the Butt Family has withdrawn all interests in bootlegging it seems as they are already wealthy enough. now a days this is not very much. However in small scale it is also continue.

Geography

Khuiratta is very close to the line of control or border between Azad Kashmir and Indian Kashmir which is called LOC in short. It has other small towns, Serri, Brottgala, Karjai, sadpoor, Bindian, bindiyan, banni bannah, Dmandah are some of the familiar ones.

Education

Khuiratta has good educational facilities, providing degree colleges for both boys and girls. English medium schools also exist, a good example is the "Holy Public" school and college.
