Trains are run about every half half hour, except for the rush hour time at seven o'clock. Rapid trains are run in the morning once a day only for Fukui, stopping at the following stations:

Kyoto Dentō, a former body of Keifuku began operating the line in 1913 between
Shin-Fukui Station and Ichiarakawa Station (nowEchizen-Takehara Station ) as Echizen Main Line. The entire line was opened in 1918 to Ōno-Jūban Station (later renamed to Keifuku-Ōno), and the line extended to Fukui in 1929. [http://www57.tok2.com/home/tram/echizen.html History of Katsuyama Eiheiji Line] ] In 1974, The sector from Katsuyama Station to Keifuku-Ōno was discontinued, and the route from Eiheijiguchi to Katsuyama was taken into consideration in 1998, which the local community opposed and was taken down. OnDecember 17 ,2000 , A train entering from Eiheiji Line at Higashi-Furuichi (now Eiheijiguchi) Station could not stop due to brake problems and collided into another train on Echizen Main Line, killing the driver and injuring 24 passengers. Again onJune 24 ,2001 , two trains going different directions collided head-to-head between Hota and Hossaka stations on the Echizen Main Line injuring 24, and forcing Keifuku to cease operation and eventually transfer its Fukui Prefecture lines to Echizen Railway in 2003. Echizen Railway uses twenty-five cars total in its entire railway. The main type active is the MC6101, with twelve cars, followed by MC2101 with eight cars, MC6001 with two cars, and three other types with one each.
